Christmas is coming, and for one member of the Craven Fawcett team, it’s just a little more special.
Kevin Hall, Technical Director, will be joining 30 other members of the Wakefield Metropolitan Brass Band to entertain the local community at their annual Christmas Brass performance in the Matcham Auditorium at Theatre Royal Wakefield on Sunday 7 December.
Having started playing at just eight years old, Kevin has now been performing for more than 50 years — it’s truly a lifelong passion.
A family affair
It’s very much a family tradition, too. Kevin’s father, brother, son and daughter have both played in the band, and he even met his wife, Diane, through it.
This year marks the 37th annual Christmas Brass concert. Having performed at the same venue for the past 36 years, the event has become a much-loved fixture in the local festive calendar.

A sell-out performance
This year is no different, with tickets already sold out!
A community band with members of all ages
The band has a strong community spirit, bringing together players from across Wakefield, Pontefract, and the surrounding areas. Members range from teenagers to performers in their seventies, with a fantastic mix of backgrounds and experience.
Kevin says: “The Wakefield Brass Band concert is a real highlight in the band’s calendar. Having played now for over 50 years, it’s more than a passion — it’s been a big part of our lives.”
